    I’ve been handling cloud stuff casually for a while — mostly EC2 and a bit of S3 — but now my team’s shifting more projects to fully managed AWS setups. I’m trying to figure out which tools are actually worth investing time into. There’s just so much under the AWS umbrella. I don’t want to waste weeks on services that barely get used in real scenarios. What’s really worth focusing on in 2025?

    Yeah, been through that — trying to learn everything and ending up burned out. What helped me was focusing on Lambda, CloudWatch, and API Gateway first. Also got more into IaC with CDK lately, and it’s been a lifesaver for consistency across projects.     Most folks I know who stick with cloud long-term seem to value simplicity and automation more than learning every niche tool. They tend to build out repeatable systems, so once something works, they just improve it slightly over time instead of constantly jumping to new services. Makes sense when you’re juggling multiple projects.
