So basically the way the cursor is configured now but with sinewaves integrated (same notes would be there).
Hi!
Just tried on a macbook pro and it runs smoothly @60fps…
Is there a way i could give you some valuable information to track this problem on the win10 machine?
I tried on it to go down from 4k screen resolution to 1080p, changed the behavior of the bug a bit, but still there almost the same… i tried to give Iannix higher process priority with no luck. :/
Thanks
Nice! I’ll try this out.
cheers!
I’ve been trying to find more documentation on different OSC messages sent from Max back to IanniX. I found some useful things from Julian Scordato’s writing about some of his work (how to individually change the speed and time position of a cursor on a curve), but haven’t been able to find what types of OSC messages I could send from Max to dynamically change the colors of the cursors/curves/triggers in IanniX. Does this exist, and if so is there documentation about it? Or is it just a pipe dream?
Any help is appreciated!
Nevermind – got it figured out finally. I realized the syntax of the OSC messages is the same as the IanniX code within the quotation marks of the run( » « ) commands. Makes total sense!
I did notice an issue in the IanniX Helper window – when I clicked on the copy > for MaxMSP and tried to paste into Max 7 on my Windows 10 laptop, no object was created and I got an error message:
clipboard JSON conversion
‘,’ or ‘}’ character expected after value for key ‘text’: line=1, char=314, text=’… } , { « box » : { « maxclass » : « message », « text » : « /iannix/log « -‘
Not an emergency for me since I found my solution, but just curious if that was a known error.
Hi Christopher,
More generally, you can see OSC messages if you let the Helper window (> Icon) opened. By modifying parameters in the graphical interface (color, speed…), you will see the associated OSC message in this floating window.
For the other bug, I take a look a little later!
Guillaume.
Hi guys! is there a way to always have the inspector available, even in full screen mode, or to fix the render window in the performance mode? I open my projects in .16 when I want to have both (latest version it worked, at least from here) But I’m losing my preferences and it would really facilitate things if it could work. Thanks again! 🙂
Hello,
I would like to know what would be the best way to apply a mathematical formula to a Iannix built-in value.
For instance like below, take the absolute value of the cursor x value :
run(« setMessage current 1, osc://ip_out:port_out/cursor abs(cursor_value_x) , « )
(of course it doesn’tt work)
What would be the best workaround ?
Thanks for your help !
B
Hi Bob 🙂
You were close to the solution; just add some curly brackets { … }
:
osc://ip_out:port_out/cursor {abs(cursor_value_x)}
For info, you can type any JavaScript you want inside (it should obviously return a numeric value).
Best,
Guillaume.
Hello,
I am new to Iannix and wow what a world to step into!!
I was wondering how to automate 1 cursor speed during time. So, I would have one speed at beginning of cursor location, a different speed in different time line location and so on.
Is this possible?
Best regards And thank you in advanced
Jose
Hi! It’s not possible, but you can control a cursor speed from another software (Max, Pd, Processing…).
Hi guys!
I’ve been working for a while with IanniX now and I made a simple tool to be able to rotate and change values on the 5 basic parameters on any given curbs.
Its really crude (I don’t code and the UI is crap) but it works.
You can download it Here.
I’ll be adding the background colors and individual colors & numbers of points for each curbs but I just wanted to give that basic tool and start the conversation.
(you guys can see what I do with that on my site )
cheers 🙂
Thanks for this contribution!!
Hi there,
– After I draw 6 curves, the main grid page rotates by itself.
– Also, when I hit play, the page moves with the cursors in a weird way.
– Then, the whole score gets stuck and I can’t add anything or use it.
Hope those bugs will be fixed, thanks in advance.
Hi!
First issue: are-you sure you’re not moving the grid by pressing Alt+mouse drag that rotates in 3D the score? To get back to the 2D view, Alt+Dble click on the score.
Second issue: can you explain us the « weird way » you observe?
Last issue: maybe it’s linked to the score rotation (when the score rotates, you can’t edit anymore, don’t ask me why:-) So Alt+Dble click in the score may resolve this issue also.
Thanks!
