    Hi all,

I am trying to use IanniX on Ubuntu 18.04.
I downloaded IanniX (version 0.9.20 beta) and started it (running IanniX.sh) along with QjackCtl and Qsynth.
In QjackCtl the connections between IanniX and Qsynth seem ok, but opening one of the examples in IanniX, no audio is heard.
Maybe am I doing something wrong?

I also tried to compile the IanniX source code with “Qt Creator 4.5.2 Based on Qt 5.9.5 (GCC 7.3.0, 64 bit)” in my Ubuntu 18.04.
    .
But when I start Debug, it gives me the error:
“Qwindow: no such file or directory iannix.h 44.”
I’ve never used Qt, so I don’t know where the problem is.

    Some advice?

    Thanks,
    a

    Hi!
That’s normal, IanniX doesn’t produce sound but data to feed oscillators, actuators, light… (in MIDI, OSC…)
On Windows or Mac, we provide Max samples that you can hear.

    Thanks,

I rebuilt a patch in Pure Data on Ubuntu 18.04 following a video tutorial. Now the (x,y) coordinates coming from IanniX enter the patch in real time, so it’s easy to convert them into sounds.
It works well, all very interesting.

    Hi there,
can someone explain how to synch IanniX main Tempo to an External Clock?

e.g. CV, Ableton Link, MIDI Clock, TimeCode, etc.

    Thank you

    Hi,

in IanniX 0.9.20 beta (on Ubuntu 18.04) I would like to add a large vertical cursor that slides from left to right, I believe it is called “timeline cursor”.
Clicking the “Adds a timeline” button nothing is happening, the cursor does not appear. But in the Inspector is present in the objects list. Is there a particular procedure for viewing it?

    Thanks,
    a.

I don’t know if that has anything to do with it, but after a system update (Ubuntu), now the “Adds a timeline” button brings up a timeline segment with a slider. Using the mouse I can lengthen or shorten the segment, but I can’t increase the size of the cursor (I can’t find hooks to lengthen it with mouse) that I would like to extend to the full height of the score. Maybe I need to change or add a parameter in the script?

    Hi

Trying to connect OSC data from Iannix to Unity to manipulate game objectS .I am building on a project by Bitcraft Lab (https://github.com/bitcraftlab/iannix-unity) and following the GMU tutorial (https://www.uni-weimar.de/kunst-und-gestaltung/wiki/GMU:Tutorials/Networking/Controlling_Unity_with_IanniX). The project is from 2016 so quite old. I had to update the Iannix script in the project folder from js to C#. From the looks of things no errors with the code, but the data from IanniX is having no effect on the game objects in Unity. I am pretty close but can’t seem to figure out what is going wrong. Do you know of any other examples connecting Iannix to Unity? Thanks!

    Hi,

I just discovered the iannix seq and I want to use it with Ableton Live.
I tried without success this two Max4Live devices to make Live communicate with iannix:

    IannixSequencer 1.42
    https://maxforlive.com/library/device/715/iannix-sequencer

    iannixtomidi
    https://www.maxforlive.com/library/device/699/iannixtomidi

I followed the instructions really carefully and a couple of times.
I thought that maybe the (internal windows) firewall blocked the communication so I disabled it – again no success.

What I could examine is that the patch “IannixSequencer 1.42” send the control data to iannix. So when I change values in “IannixSequencer 1.42” it is sent to iannix but the midi information from iannix don’t go to Ableton Live.

I’m really clueless atm and would appreciate any help.

    My setup:

    Windows 10 Pro (latest version)
    Ableton Live 10.1.14
    Iannix 0.9.20 beta
    IannixSequencer 1.42
    iannixtomidi 0.1

Maybe someone has an idea what is the problem. What may have I oversee?

Thank you very much and stay healthy.

    Hey guys.
I just bought a latest MBP and was wondering if you could release a version adapted to run on M1 chips?
I’m going to try to compile a built with QT5 and everything but I’m not sure it will work and this would be waaay easier if it came from the “official” builders.
    cheers!

    Hi !
Unfortunately, we tried but the re-build in QT5 with Apple Silicon support requires reworking quite a few parts of the code (some “old” QT5 modules have not been ported). So there is a bit of work to get there…
    Sorry :-/

    Hello Christian,
We had implemented the MTC at the time, but IanniX not being set on a BPM, there were errors and inaccuracies. On the other hand, the “Song Position Pointer” (MIDI SPP) is well supported (just tested with Ableton Live).
